I have a 1 year old coonhoound German Shepard mix. He is very high energy. I take him on about 2 walks a day. But it really isn’t enough. I cant let him off his leash in the backyard because he will jump the fence, and bark at neighbors. At the moment i cannot afford obedience, or agility classes. However i will be doing that ASAP.

With summer coming i will be taking him on more walks. But what are some other ways i can get out some of his energy. Like coonhound training or something that a coonhound, and or a German Shepard would like do. Also what kind of supplies would i need.
Thanks! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Also right know i am feeding him professionals large breed puppy food is this a good brand of food for him. I need a nice premium brand that is not to expensive. And what eould be good for him when I get him off puppy food.??

search for videos on youtube by K9-1, they have some really good dog training videos on how to train the dog. ps. 2 walks a day is really good as long as you can keep it up.
And when you can afford classes take him asap, they can teach him to be more friendly with other dogs, but i would recommend a private trainer because the dog will get much more out of it. Mine used to be on the police force and is retired, he takes 20$ per hour, 2 hours a week, which isnt too bad considering he gets great results
Ask around and im sure you can find a good trainer.

My coonhound is a lazy bum most of the day, but she goes on 3 mile horse rides with me, but if he’s got that much energy, swimming will take it out of him or getting another dog for him to play with. Both are hunting breeds so they will have a high amt of energy, which should wear off as he gets older.
