@20Hippo08 I have the exact same problem as you. My Golden Retriever pup loves attention. So what I did was every time she does something bad that I don’t want – jumping on me, biting and tugging my pants, biting too hard when playing, I stand up immediately, hands crossed, my back facing her. If she still continues, I leave the room immediately. Basically what you’re telling her is, if you do something I don’t want, NO attention. She learned within 5 tries. But you’ll have to be consistent!!

I have a Jack Russell mix that loves to jump. He was jumping on anyone who came in the room. He even jumped on toddlers. He often bounded from a run up onto you. I figured that it would take a few rounds of this little exercise of yours to work, especially since we have other commands that he will follow only after many repeated orders. I held his paws for a few seconds… he didn’t even struggle or anything, but he stopped jumping on anyone immediately.

My friends have 2 dogs, one of them is a greyhound could Atticus, and he is very calm, and never jumps up. (Probably because he’s to big) he has retired from racing, of course, because he is 7. He could have a little training, but not the jumping up training, training like sit. But the other dog is a staffy cross and is quite small, and is mad!! She’s called Taffy, and she jumps up all the time, and bites your shoes, and then scratches your leg! So tomorrow im going there, and going to train her

My dog knows that he isn’t allowed to jump, so what he does is hit ad run. I haven’t been able to find anything on how to correct a dog when he isn’t there, to correct him

This is really great, the first time I’ve seen or heard of this method. I’ve tried the “hands off, look away” approach, but I have a boxer who is pretty determined and a puppy with sharp claws. Thanks a lot!!

A1 advice! I just adopted a one yr old Irish Wolfhound X and she constantly jumps on me (and ONLY me) but now that I am holding on to her paws and telling her ‘OFF’ She’s not as bad.. in a few weeks I should have a good dog.

Useful tip!
“Aft paws method” is much better.
What I did in the past was lightly stepping on dog’s rear paws. The only thing I achieved was he bacame a master in avoiding his paws being stepped on

I now have a 4 year old yellow lab that my daughter and son-in-law caused so many problems that they gave her to me . Most of the issues except two very annoying habits I’ve had success in fixing and with this video advice on jumping, she is a lot more sociable to be around. The last problem is slow, she crotch sniffs which we call dolphin poking, everyone she meets. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks again for the easy and quick jumping solution.
