Buy a nylon muzzle. Start using it to teach the dog what QUIET means. When the dog barks, go out and say QUIET, and put a muzzle on him for 10-15 minutes. Keep an eye on him while he wears the muzzle, dont leave him unattended. After a while, the dog will start to think of the muzzle when you say quiet, and he’ll know you want him to shut up, and he’ll know he doesn’t like being muzzled. It may take a little time, but being consistent goes a long way in teaching the dog.

@KGotschall
I am surprised the dog is so mellow with all that stimulation of his ears and the excited tone of the “expert’s” voice.
Good dog.
NO! Bad boy, trainer.

LOL I love how he is constantly touching his dog, and it gets up when he stops, and then he starts petting it again, while he is talking about innapropriate reinforcement.
BTW, yelling NO to your dog all the time without correcting him teaches him to ignore you when you yell no at him, and creates more noise and excitement, making the problem worse. That is a basic behaviour modification principle but I guess this expert dosen’t know that lol

@speedomike747 No. It’s impossible to diagnose over the internet, but could be that she is testing your limits, or worse, it could be a sign of anxiety. When she does that you should turn away from the dog and walk away, ignoring the behaviour. It won’t take long before she realises humping is not a way of getting your attention.
When she behaves correctly, respectfully and pays attention to you, reward her with play, cuddles and treats. That will improve her confidence in both you and herself.

@gabrielghostrider First of all, I have no idea what you just said in your last part of your sentence. Maybe you should work on your grammar and get some anger management courses. Secondly, when you’re an “expert” at something, you don’t half ass it. Like you said, he was “trying” to teach. If you’re going to teach, do it properly.
