have you ever thought that maybe the dog thinks its being bitten!? Isnt that the desired effect in order to “correct” the undesired behavior…the dog prob cant figure out where this invisible dog is….so its no wonder it goes after any dog…how can it decipher….you are creating a fearful and “agressive” dog by using such devices. I am happy though that you explained its not to be used on young dogs and shouldnt be your first choice as a training method…kudos to that!

thank you so much for your advice.
that story of dogs getting incorrectly corrected on the prong collar near other dogs causing dog aggression is so true.
wow that was a mouthful.
that’s what she said.

Amen to that.
Gentle leaders are EVIL, and so are harnesses, unless your dog is going to be pulling weight.

@ConiferTreez
right on man. my gsd didnt give a damn about the “gentle leader”, he’d twist his whole neck around and he would not give a ****.
those things can do damage

No he doesn’t, his methods work fine. That’s why he gets RESULTS.

The prong collar is a P+/R- device (positive punishment/negative reinforcement)

Eric is RIGHT! The prong collar is the most humane and easily understood collar for dogs. When used properly it imitates the natural correction that every dog would receive from their mother, a pinch to the neck. Are some of you suggesting that mama dogs are abusive and dont understand their own kind? Dogs must understand there are consequences to bad behavior and that can only come from negative reinforcement. Without those consequences the real life consequences would be much more severe

I know Cesar Milan uses them?? Maybe thats why he condones them but Cesar needs to update his methods big time.

Yes. It is only useful for people who don’t have the slightest idea about how to handle dogs.
Unfortunately it is the dog that has to pay the price for the handler’s lack of knowledge.
The rest of us know how to train a dog without hurting them. I like my dogs…Hence I would never cause them to hurt in any way.
It’s sad that a person who calls himself “the amazing dog training man” would ever recommend such a tool.

Sure, but it’s not that. The site is not displaying.. something does get loaded, but nothing’s on the screen, and it appears as if it’s still loading.
I see now if I stop it and look at the source, there is something there, so there must be something strange with your HTML or something..
