Kibble is never a good quality food. It is dry, lacks moisture. That is very bad for kidneys among other things. Vegetables aren’t needed and dogs get no nutritional value from them because they can’t process them.
Kibble makes dogs sick!

I ALWAYS FEED NUTRA MAX

@robomaniac8 for the 11 year old i would def. try the EVO, you can also use the “Stella and Chewy” or Natures Variety freeze dried food and sprinkle it onto the kibble. The Merrick food is coated so when you add warm water, it turns into a gravy too.

okay, thank you SO much! i needed to know that and do you know that if i feed any of my dogs any of that stuff whille it help them live a little longer even if there old (i ask this because i have a very picky 11 year old dog)

@robomaniac8 EVO and Orijen are the highest in protein. If you are looking for good quality and not so expensive, try the “California Natural”, Wellness, or Taste of the Wild. the Merrick Before Grains is a good one as well.

is there any other type i should give to my pug and my other dog?(she is a mixed breed of chihuahua and ratterier)

Not too certain about the rock idea. My pup would just devour that as well. The bowl I have heard of, and seemed to me a good idea. Thanks for advice.

@robomaniac8 “OL Roy” is terrible food. Stay away from corn, wheat, and soy (these all cause allergies) and meat by product (the part of the animal humans dont eat). If you feed a better quality pet food, you dog is more likely to live longer and be happier.

@Ydivan30 place a small rock into the food bowl, this will force him to eat around it. Also certain pet stores sell different food bowls that are designed just for that issue.

Puppies and dogs eat fast due to their instincts. In a pack, they eat as fast as they can. It’s natural. Or your puppy may have been starved before you got it. It will need to be calm of its surroundings, and feel safe before it feels comfortable in eating. Try teaching it treats and give it plenty of praise. Calm it before it eats by petting it and massauging it’s neck and scruff.

Every time your puppy jumps on you, turn your back on her and tell her, UH-UH! In an angry tone. You’re telling her that you do not like her behavior. When she calms down, that’s when you turn around and praise her, but don’t get her excited when you praise her, because she’ll want to jump on you again. Keep doing this and eventually she will learn that jumping up on you is unacceptable.

I’ve been ffeeding my golden lab a good quality food twice a day, she’s 19 months old now. I feed her about a cup of dry food at each meal, but also I have been giving her a small handful of frozen mixed vegetables with her meal. I am hoping that this is okay for her? She just loves it and gobbles it down, but she seems to want to put everything and anything in her mouth, even still at this age.
Is there a way to get her to quit from jumping on me too?
Thanks,
Linda Mattey too

August 27th, 2010 at 6:34 pm
dry food is the best food raw food been getting my dogs sick for years and years so if you want to give your dog raw food sadly Im not going to stop you but me and my dog is HAPPY with dry food and thats what you suppose to do when you own a dog
August 30th, 2010 at 3:42 am
So mother nature evolved them so that they wouldn”t be able to make the best with food as they would find it? And that is why they need dog food? I think that is a whole bunch of BS commming from the guys who sell you the dog food. I got nothing agaisnt dog food, its easy and practical and could be nutritional but dont sell the crap dogs can’t be without it.

September 5th, 2010 at 2:33 am

September 5th, 2010 at 9:57 pm
How dare you say I’m killing my dog and I will not drop it! If you don’t want to learn that is fine but stop trying to trash me and others that know better. I will not stop posting till you stop posting lies.
September 8th, 2010 at 12:03 am
just drop it okay because its your own dog that you is killing so please just drop it
September 8th, 2010 at 7:08 am
Everything you’ve posted about raw feeding is not true. I don’t understand why you’d post lies on purpose but I do understand that you are hurting your dogs by sticking with kibble. It causes diabetes, kidney problems and worse. Please don’t get any more dogs. And please stop posting lies.
