@JMHoodSTAR Dogs only know what we teach them. They can respond to commands in many languages if that is what you teach them

If i’ve been training my Rotti in English would they still know German??

@honorax123 That depends on the character of your dog as well as the quality of the training.

Ok, 1) Hier is written thusly in German, not “heir” 2) Why in German? I train my dog in German, english and French depending upon the command and the intent. Since my wife does Dummy work, the Dummy commands are in English. we live in german-speaking Switzerland so some are German, some Swiss German. SOme in French to differentiate between for example platz and down (couch). And we do not do Schützenhund. dog Dancing and Dummy.

it sounds like she may have been trained in german if she is responding to the commands:)

You know i rescued my dog and noticed when we go places if she hears a command that she would respond to them.. so I started the german commands.. and she acts like she knows them.. so im wondering if she was trained before with them. Smart girl every day I try to challenge her . Thanks for posting the video it helped me learn the commands!

Can someone give me a tip on foos (heel)? and walking in general? My dog seems to stay pretty well behaved when walking, but to keep him at my side I have to pull him back quite a bit……but thats not cool because the whole idea is to get him not to pull. What do I do??

You seem pretty good at this, and you’re dog listens to you very well. I am wishing to properly raise/train my dog and would love ANY tips on how to get him to listen to me as well as you’re dog listens to you (My dog is only 10 weeks old currently)

Thanks so much man

Wow that’s a loaded question! It depends on how good you and the trainer you work with are, and how much natural courage and ability the dogs have. Some can never learn it, some learn quickly. The rest fall in between

Hmm…I have a 1 1/2 year old german shepard, well…I have 2 actually a boy and a girl, brother and sister, how long do you think itll take for them to learn defensive/aggresive, sit/stand/stay/follow commands?
July 2nd, 2010 at 11:11 pm
That dog was 2 when the vdeo was made. With the right dog they could learn all of that in 3 months if you ork hard.
