Doesn’t “Treat” training teach your dog to look for treats every time you give a command? My dog is VERY treat motivated, but I’m afraid that he will fail to listen later if I have no treats, and I don’t want to be carrying around a pocketful of dog snacks every time I go out with him.

Very Nice! I think your videos are very helpful and easy to follow. I have a Staffy and she just completed Obedience training. Your videos help to re-enforce that training, especially on the commands I have not stayed up on. Thanks

how do u even get ur dog to sit calmly with a leash on? iv had my lab-mix for just over a week, i get his leash out and he goes crazy an i just cant get his attention, i just have to walk over to where i keep the leash and he starts to whimper. Its the same once we get to the park, i just cant get his attention as he is busy chasing other dogs, people and cars… i am using a gentle leader but he still pulls.Any tips how to solve this?

Thanx, for this video its great. I’m currently teaching my 5yr old Siberian Husky drop on recall, and this is a great and easy way to teach the ”finish” command. Thanx again!

do dogs have to face the direction you’re facing during a heel position or it don’t matter. cause my brother’s pitbull puppy will sit on my left side, but not faceing the same direction as i am.

what does the dog do now if he hear the command? Does he sit next to you or does he go behind your back first and sit then in front of you?

That is a problem that most people encourage. They walk in the door and get the high pitched excited tone and the dogs already excitement is kicked up a notch. You should just ignore and even use that as a training period and then give praise when the dog relaxes. They want to learn even if it’s not always easy. Just imagine we had to try to figure out everything they were saying and then realize how hard it must be for them. They can do it though. Use calm persistence.

when you go and see your dog when its crying you are saying if you cry long enough or hard enough ill come back and give you a cuddle.
if you have a crate or baby gate put it in there while walking around your house.throw it a treat or 2 when its been quiet for 3+ mins practice leaving for 5-10 mins at a time only go back when it is totally silent, giving lots of treats, this teaches your dog you will always be back, so it might as well just wait for the and treat your gonna give.
hope it helps

all dogs have this problem. i know that its hard to do, but wat u have to do is to ignore him when he is crying or barking. start with simple methods of leaving the room and then coming back. DO NOT praise your dog when he sees you after being alone or when he barks. just ignore him. for more step wise help, search on google about puppy training.

i wanted to thank you too
i’m gonna buy a labrador in a few months, and i want to be proud of him/ her. that’s why i must do my homework and get as much information (about dog training) as i can. i realise that if i want a good dog i have to be a good owner, and your videos are the best solutions.
i don’t think you have time to view all the comments but, anyway, THANK YOU!

Do not give your doberman the reward (food or sth. else) right when she sits by your side. Always but slowly increase the time the dog needs to stay at your side until it gets the reward. Give the treat while saying “release” or whatever you want. I hope it’ll work out for you. Have fun training!
